The Bible Our Life’s Manual

In this short read we dive into the Bible, our life's manual. How many of us come into the world learning that God gave us rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky over livestock and all the wild animals (that most of us are afraid of). Are we being taught that we are the image of God or the image of Mommy and Daddy? God said for us to be fruitful and multiply and to fill the earth and subdue/conquer it. Since God is telling us to conquer the earth I’m sure if we continue reading the word He tells us how.

We are the human species, those most common amongst society highlight focus on comparisons to the mass of human life; having motor skills alongside firm understandings of evidence. Observations that invoke us to perceivably see from within, what is outside our most naked, barest, soft bluff of an execution of what we call society. Actually, for lack of needed examination, the participation of one amongst the whole. One, being the observer. Whole, being the society we are.

Ladies, get your education!

This book was written to encourage teenagers and young women to pursue their careers and end their sole dependence on men. It explains that even the best-looking individuals have difficulties keeping men from disrespecting them. Every woman needs to love and value themselves first before considering relationships. Marriage is a beautiful commitment when both parties contribute financially. Yes, there are other factors like effective communications and emotional support, but I noticed that egos are heightened with regards to money. A man usually maintains control or the last say if he is the main provider. Therefore, for a woman to have some level of influence, her finances must be able to support herself and children without her man.

The Terrarium

A nine year old Reform Jewish boy growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1968 moves with his family from the VERY Jewish Squirrel hill neighborhood to the VERY gentile, and anti-Semitic Mt. Lebanon. For the first time in his life he encounters bigotry and in the process not just against Jews but blacks, Asians, and LGBTQ. Also he begins to realize that his own family, which he took for granted as idyllic, has hidden secrets. Along his journey to a dramatic set of realizations, he is exposed to his first sexual awakening, understanding the secrets carried by those around him, and the darkness of abuse that hides in families with a veneer of respectability. It is a beautifully told story that at times is laugh out loud funny, and others moving to tears, that takes place in the 1960s, a decade of transformation for all of America.
